#20Facts Challenge

I’ve been wanting to share this on my blog but just got the opportunity to do so by being nominated by my good friend Fianne for the #20FactsAboutMe challenge.

1. I go by the full name of Genevieve Anne Ebio Diocos

2. I have a lot of nicknames. Bib/ Gen/ Vieve/ Anne/ Biba/ Bebang/ Bebs/ Bibs/ Bangus and a lot more. (Haha! I can’t believe I mentioned the last one either.)

3. I graduated with a degree of BS in Business Administration major in Financial Accounting (March 2012). I presently work as a bank teller.

4. I fell in love with reading books through the magic of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series.

5. I collect Candy Magazines in my teen years. My letters to Editor Mia was published for 5 times, one was featured as “Letter We Love”.

6. Tricia Gosingtian, Shai Lagarde, Camille Co and Vern & Verniece Enciso are my fave bloggers who inspired me to make my own.

7. Hello Kitty is my cartoon hero. I still collect kitty items up to now.

8. The Eiffel Tower in Paris, Sanrio Puroland in Tokyo and Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando are my top 3 dream destinations.

9. I went cray cray over the Gossip Girl television series when I was in college. It went to the point when my Mom hides the DVD for me not to watch it on a school day.

13. McDonald’s cheeseburger is my comfort food. Even with a really bad day, it all subsides when I have a bite of it.

14. I can’t swim. Hence, I’m not a big fan of riding boats, going to beaches, and just the plain saltwater and sand.

15. I’m a DIY junkie. I enjoy doing arts and crafts just like my Mom and sister. Me and my sister even do scrap booking together when we were little.

16. I can stay up really late for the sake of watching Korean dramas.

20. Blogging for me is therapeutic. This blog serves as an outlet for me, I love it even more when people tell me they read it. (Like, real people actually read it.)

And I now end this post by nominating Tazz, Kae and Ara to do the same.

That is all for this post. I hope you guys like it. Don't forget to hype my look here.

Wash Day

Another new school year has opened and so is another year that I passed up on going back to school. It's not that I really need to, I just have this feeling that I will want to go back to school. But since I'm still enjoying my spare time from work I'd like to share to you guys ootds that can be useful for school days especially on ordinary wash days.

For this post I've compiled three different looks. Classic or laid-back, experimental and rock star.

If you read my back to school post last year, you should have known that I am not a big fan of wearing uniforms, especially our college uniform. That's why in college I usually go to school not wearing one. As much I want to stick to the rules and be a goody good girl, I tried to wear school appropriate clothes so I won't be easily noticed by our professors.  And it did work, based on experience that I was able to graduate even when I seldom wore my uniform especially on my last three years I've spent at school.

I've chose three looks that I would actually wear at school that is both comfy, stylish and school-friendly.

Top: Forever 21, Jeans: Thrifted and Shoes: CLN

During lazy school days, no one will ever get wrong with shirt + jeans + flats combo. It was my favorite go-to back in my college days. But there would be days that I would like to look simple with an add-on confidence, I like trading my flats for a nice comfy pair of wedges or heels. Also, I want to keep my accessories simple by an arm candy and a nice statement necklace. I wasn't wearing a watch in the picture above but I must say every student needs to wear one.

Top: Frou Frou, Pants: SM GTW Betty, and Shoes: CLN

At times when I feel a little lost inside, stressed from school work, I take it all out by experimenting with my style for school. One example of this is mixing odd stuff like prints and stripes. It's a bonus if it totally works and not getting that weird stares.

Top: Local Dept.Store, Vest: Tiangge, Jeans: Penshoppe and Shoes: Vans

I don't usually go for the rockstar-ish look but what can I say, they're one of the comfiest and stylish clothes. This look is perfect for a rainy school day where the vest is not too warm for school unlike wearing jackets. But even with this look, you could still see the girly side of me. I can't help it. It's my signature style, pastel and feminine look this time with an added twist though.

For additional tips, I usually carry a small looking bag that you can fit a kitchen sink inside. Hahaha. What I mean you can carry lots of stuff with. It's to hassle to carry a small bag where there would be a 90% chance of leaving a thing or two behind that you really need for your schoolwork. Also,  invest on a comfy pair of shoes. It doesn't matter how much it costs or what brand name it is, as long as you've already proven and tested that it's comfy enough to last you for at least 8 hours and has a life span of at least 5 months. I must say for the ladies that you should also have this small pouch for your mini first aid kits like band aids and meds for pain relief and headache. It's nice that the school clinic is around but it's better to have your own.

That is all for this post. I hope you guys like it. Don't forget to hype my looks here, here and here.

OOTD: Nins' Recognition Rites

Time flies soo fast, our youngest brother, Nins, has now graduated from high school and is now going to college. In five years time, we'll now have another engineer in the family. And a highlight of his years in high school is the recognition rites that happened 2 months ago the morning of the graduation. As this is a special day for my brother, I wore something extra special, too.

Dress (used as top): Local Dept. Store, Skirt: SM Dept. Store
Necklace: Forever 21, Shoes: CLN

Since it was a day event, I opted for colors white, blue and yellow for the scheme of my ensemble. I've combined two of my favorites; floral and lace. Oh how I loved this ensemble. I was also the photographer that day and this ensemble helped me move around, a lot.

The top I used is actually a dress. Something I got lucky, I got a hold of. If the store I bought it with has more colors of it, I would have got it in other colors. I've paired it with this lace skirt, accessorized it in yellow. Like, this belt, necklace and even my sandals. I looked oh so summer ready.

I soo love this ensemble, I have more than enough pictures I can't let go of. Hence, this triplet-almost-identical pictures above. Hahaha

I promise. This is the last of it. Hahaha. Also, I would like to thank my brother, Kuya Mikey, for taking my outfit pictures. If he's at home whenever I take my outfit pictures, I'll definitely ask him to take them for me again. That's how happy I am with the results of the pictures.

Now, I leave you guys with pictures after the event. Scroll away.

That is all for this post. I hope you guys like it. Don't forget to hype my look here.

Light Bulb Moment

That very morning when I checked my lookbook feed and saw Anastasia Siantar's all white ensemble with a pair of origami skort, I knew then what I would pair with mine.See Anastasia's look here.
Yes. I also have been hooked with the origami skorts fever. Although I'm already months late since I can't decide what to pair it with ( It has been sitting for months already in my closet), I'd like to insert the saying "It's better to be late than never". Good thing I had a light bulb moment a few mornings ago.

Anyway, I've worn this last Friday to accompany my Mom to aid my lil brother for the Military Parade. September is the feast month of the patron saint of Bicol, Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia also called as Ina. And celebrating her feast month is always a bundle of joy here in Naga City. There are so many exciting activities lined up for every ages. And one of these is the Military Parade where different schools all over the region trained under the CAT and ROTC program battle it out through a parade. There are also bands/drum and lyre corps with twirling majorettes that accompany them and adorns almost the main streets of the city with their colorful costumes and music they play who are also included in the competition.
If you follow me on Instagram (Naks! I already have one. Follow me: @genbibandi) I've already posted my peg outfit a day before. I actually drew it and took a picture of it. I was that excited when I came up with this ensemble.

Shirt and Tube top: Thrifted, Skort: Pretty Witty Stuff
Bags and Shoes: Primadonna

One factor I noticed with my inspiration look is that she used the same color to pair with the skort. In my case I chose to use a color in the same family then combined it with my current fave color which is white. I didn't want to copy the whole look so I spiced it up by making the striped button down shirt as a cover up and wore a pretty lace tube top underneath.

Of course, I paired it with my sling bag and nude open toe sandals. I knew we'd be walking a lot since most of the main streets of Naga will be close so I opted for a comfy pair and a worry-free bag. Also, I braided (french braid) my hair after the parade since my hair was already a mess and the Mr. Sunshine was now on full blast.

I was able to take a few pictures during the parade and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the UNC CAT 1 unit for winning the top spot for the Most Disciplined award in Category A and was hailed the Over-all Champion for the said Category. *Thumbs up*

I now leave you guys with a few.

Weekend Trip *wink*

Top: Thrifted, Jeans: SM Dept. Store, Necklace: LCC Dept. Store
and Shoes: CLN

So, it has been a month since my last blog post. Here comes the undying and same explanation of mine with a twist. I have been very busy at work lately since it is the season of BIR collection payments deadline. (As in dead line.jk) that we were required to work overtime, which kept me a few hours late to come home. By the time I got home it was just enough to have dinner, have some rest and unwind, namely Candy Crush and Chefville. I confess! I have been hooked up lately playing fb apps. I have once been addicted to Sorority Life and Baking Life Story.

Anyway, let's move on to the sole purpose of this post which is to tell you guys about my weekend trip to Makati with my Mom and Auntie Lina. The trip was unplanned. I just knew about it a day before the trip. I actually like unplanned trips like this where I don't get too excited and just get disappointed in the end. Back to our trip, we left for Manila on a Friday evening and took a bus. It was 30 mins. late that I actually thought we were forgotten to be picked up at the terminal for we bought the last few tickets on a last minute.

The trip was smooth and quite comfier than I have expected. We arrived in Cubao at around 6:30 in the morning. For those who don't know, trips from Naga City, Bicol to Manila usually takes 8 hours at a maximum, that's why I prefer and find it more convenient to have this long trips at night where you could just sleep in the bus through out the trip then wake up arriving in Manila. The problem was arriving too early. Since, we are going to stay in a hotel we need to wait for hours since check-in time are usually at noon time 'til 2 pm. Good thing Tita Marilene, a good friend and old colleague of my Auntie, came to the rescue. I must say, she's one of the nicest persons I have ever met. She literally brought us everywhere. It was the usual hot and sunny Saturday that she didn't mind giving a day for us.

At Bonifacio High Street

When I said she brought us everywhere literally, it means: GH Shopping Center, Rockwell, where we had our lunch, Prince Plaza II Condotel, where we checked-in, Bonifacio High Street in Taguig, where we had our meriends and finally in RW Manila for dinner. Like, that's a lot of place to visit in a day. Even though I could not remember when was the last time I walked that far, our day with her was a fun-filled shopping and food trip experience. I had loads of fun. Unfortunately, (here goes another lame excuse) I only had a few pictures taken on that day. We were all pre-occupied on what we enjoy doing that I haven't managed to persuade my Mom to take pictures of me. You see, I have a poor puppy dog eyes skill. Good thing on the second day she already agreed with me. :D

My outfit shot was actually taken on our second/ last day of the trip
since I have work the next day :(
I wore this blue and white stripes button down shirt paired with my fave faded denim jeans. I finished the look off with this coral peach beaded necklace I recently got from LCC. I chose to wear this button-down shirt since the fabric is really light. I was able to move freely and not struggle carrying my bag at the same time. I also wore my now fave sandals from Celine, we walked a lot and it never failed me, as in never. Then, I threw in a dainty arm party.  The picture was actually taken at a window display of Marc by Marc Jacobs in greenbelt. I have always imagined this side of the mall like the street of designer stores in Hong Kong minus the crowd of people rushing everywhere.

Back to our trip, we get to check out the nearby malls (Yes. Mall in plural. Since we stayed in the Makati area) and see the other amenities of the place we are staying in. Our day started with having breakfast at there upper penthouse. They served food, buffet style from 6 - 10 am. The dining area has the view of their pool. (Insert: I have always admired how sky high buildings get to have pools on top of them. ) Next, was checking out the nearby malls. Did I mention? Prince Plaza II Condotel is just a street across Greenbelt. Like, how cool is that? Anyway, before we shop for the time being we visited first the Greenbelt chapel since it was Sunday that day. Then, went around Greenbelt, Glorietta and SM Makati, where we had our lunch and dropped by my own version of fashion heaven, Forever 21. (Actually, almost all the ladies consider it as one.) To my surprise, they were on S-A-L-E (Insert my own definition: the four letter word I love seeing whenever I enter a mall or a boutique) that I got myself a new dress. I was actually having a dilemma  whether to get the fully sequined skirt that I have always wanted or the classic cut dress. My Mom actually helped me on deciding that I chose the latter. She said I could use the dress on several occasions unlike the skirt.

Another picture with my fave cartoon character Hello Kitty <3

After getting energized, we agreed to take a cab to Cubao. But accidentally, we got out on the wrong exit, which is the way to Ayala MRT Station so we decided to give an MRT ride a go. I would have love riding MRT/LRT if people aren't pushing on the way in or out. But nevertheless, I still find it convenient especially if the station is near the place of your destination, a little walk won't hurt. In Cubao, we stayed at Gatemall and hopped to SM Cubao while waiting for our trip home.

And that ends this blog post. This is actually my first time to have a weekend away from home after being employed and it made me want to plan more weekend trips soon. For the mean time, I'd like to thank my Auntie Lina for making this trip possible, to my Mom for choosing me to come along with her and to Tita Marilene, for accepting my Aunt's invitation with open arms.

I apologize for being too personal. I missed posting stuff like this. Anyway, feel free to leave comment(s) below. I really want to hear from you guys and don't forget to hype my look here ;)
