Blogger's United 3 Experience

Every youngster's fashionista dream in the Philippines is to go to the Blogger's United Bazaar and luckily I got to go to the third installment. The date to be remembered was June 2, 2012. I was so psyched to meet my fashion Idols that I was only able to see online. I met Kryz Uy, Patricia Prieto, Cheyser Pedregosa, Divine Lee, Anastasia Siantar and my fave Camille Co. There were soo many who participated the event. I also spotted some other bloggers like David Guison, Lissa Kahayon, Laureen Uy, Seph and Shai, Tracy Ayson, Tin Iglesias, Marj Sia, Val Chua, Vern and Verniece Enciso and many more. (Soo many bloggers to mention) So, as promised, I'm here to share to all of you the joy that I felt.

It all started with an early preparation for the event. Since the bazaar will be packed with fashion bloggers, dressing up is a-must! I got up early to have some breakfast and for an early shower since I wanted to set my hair in curls, they need to be dry by then. I was wearing this long sleeve polka-dot dress with a comfy pair of sandals. Then, rode  a taxi to the Grandview Events Place in Makati. (Good thing I didn't get lost. I was flying solo at the BU3) When I arrived at the Buma Bldg, there was already a line going to the Third Floor where the bazaar will take place. I think I'm one of the first 50 persons to get in the event. Shoppers are all dressed up too. Spotted most of the fashion trends exhibited by other fellow shoppers; the metallic accessories (specifically statement necklaces), mullet skirts, prints on print, color blocking, statement sky high heels (Some of them can't even walk properly.heheh *tiis ganda*), dip dye hairs, maxi skirts, and many more. Anyhow, as we were waiting in the line, other bloggers were just arriving. I can't describe how my face looks like when Lissa Kahayon, Kryz Uy and Patricia Prieto were going upstairs. Ugh. The feeling of seeing the dolls you adore online, in person. Then, people were already getting whispery (there's no such word but I made it to use as shortcut for people all whispering.haha) when Anastasia Siantar Arrived. I swear my reaction was like this ♥_

Then people were all excited when the line started moving. Yihee.
Upon entering the place you are asked to register and pay for your ticket if you still don't have one. And the sponsors of the event will already give their gift items inside a reusable tote bag, which is very useful for bazaars like this. Then, a loud music plays and then boom! I'm already in dreamland. Clothes, bags, accessories and shoes surrounding me where my fave bloggers awaits and greets everyone who enter their booths. Nuff with the talking, let me share to you a few of the photos I had with my fave bloggers.

When I arrived at our hotel room from the bazaar. A happy and satisfied me!

To be honest I still had a post-BU3 feeling a few days after the event that I still can't believe I've meet my fave bloggers. They are the ones who inspired me to make my own blog and it feels good sharing what you love to everyone like what I'm doing right now.

Have you been to the Blogger's United 3? You can share to me your experience by leaving a comment below. Anyway, 'til my next blog!

P.S. I was all alone at the bazaar and I would just like to thank my fellow shoppers that was kind enough to take pictures of me and my fave bloggers. Thank you soo much! You guys are soo nice and that little help really made my experience more fun. Thank you a million! Glitter kisses to everyone!

Teller Mode

Everyone knows I've just graduated this March 2012. But newly grad nowadays are having a hard time looking for a job. Luckily, I am not one of those. I was blessed to get a job in less than a month after graduation. Last June 22,2012 a universal bank opened in our city where I am now part of. We have undergone a series of tests, interviews and a training a month before the bank opened.

A day before the opening, we had this dinner with a few of the bosses of our bank at Avenue Plaza Hotel and this is what I wore. Hype it on lookbook here.

Top: Bought from Cheyser Pedregosa at the Blogger's United Bazaar 3,
Bag&Shoes: Primadonna,
Statement Necklace: All Things Pretty by AnDi & ArDi
I opted for a polish look but not ott (over-the-top). I expected for a formal dinner that's why I chose this top but I wanted everyone to see kikay in me so I accessorized with a pretty statement necklace, a few bangles and a cocktail ring. I also wore a simple wedge that's comfy to wear with my easy-to-carry bag. To top the polish look off, I decided to do my hair in a bun but with a twist. I haven't got a picture of it but I made it with the help of Beauty Department. You can learn how to do it here.

Anyhow, I really had fun with the dinner and the food is absolutely yummy. Enough about the talking here are the pictures from PTC Dinner and opening & inauguration the following day that I've grabbed from Sir Jose's facebook and also a few from my phone's cam. Enjoy!

At the entrance of the hotel

It was actually a buffet type. There were lots of food but I just chose to get a soup,
a cup of rice, a porkchop with cream sauce, roasted chicken and side dish
veggie that looks like pinakbet but it's not. haha

For dessert we had a tiramisu cake.

A very pretty center piece. At first I thought it was artificial but it was real.

I don't know this one either but I shall call it Crostini Bread topped with Roasted Pepper and Tomato
*Things you don't eat everyday but wished you could*
I shall call this Mandarin Shrimp. Hahahah. (Letting out the inner chef in me)

And that's a wrap. I hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures as much as I did. You can share your thoughts by dropping comments below. I also enjoyed sharing the other side of me. As they say, Imma bank teller by day and fashion blogger by night. Until my next blog.

My Feel-good Playlist

Since I'm not yet ready with my BU3 experience and launch of our accessories online shop posts I will just share to you the Top 5 Feel-good songs.

#5
BOTH OF US by B.o.B ft. Taylor Swift

Imma big Taylor Swift fan and the new vibe when country music was combined with B.o.B's theng, that was pretty cool!

#4
SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW by Gotye

I can relate to the lyrics of the song that's why it's part of my playlist. Hahahah. (An arrow straight to his heart. The Katniss way.charot!) Anyway, the original music video was great but this cover is more awesome and entertaining.

#3
I AM THE BEST by 2NE1

Whenever I watch Myx, which is every morning, I always get to watch this video that's why it got stuck in my head. Even though I cannot understand the lyrics I find the chorus catchy and the "BAM RATATATA" part. ( Yep. To those who've watched Pokemon. It also reminds me of Ratata. hhi)

#2
I WON'T GIVE UP ON US by Jason Mraz ( Glee Version)

I've been doing ballet for a year now and am dying to make a video of me dancing lyrical songs and these is one of the songs that inspires me to do so along with A Thousand Years by Christina Perri and The Call by Regina Spektor. Unfortunately, I haven't got enough time. I even don't have time to do ballet warm up exercises anymore :( Anyway, this song gives me the feel of staring at the window and listening through the lyrics, capturing every emotion of the song. In short, senti mode langs. hahhaha. I also love the Glee version since Lea Michele gave justice to it. Plus, I can relate more if a gal is singing it. hehe

#1
HELLO by Martin Solveig & Dragonette

If you have been to the Bloggers United 3, I'm sure this song is also memorable for you. It gave me the giddy  feeling to shop. Hahahah. As in, I really felt so excited while shopping with this as background music. It's number one 'cause it's on repeat when I take a shower.hahahah

So those are the top5 songs from my Feel-good Playlist. I hope you guys enjoyed it.

Fashion Fave Thing: Accessorizing

Accessorizing for me is putting a cherry on top of a sundae. It's the final touch to everyone's outfit. As for me, I make sure to wear at least one either a pair of earrings, a connector ring, a necklace or stacks of bracelets/bangles. But nowadays, stacking/piling up accessories is now becoming a trend. (Kaya join na din ako! hahah)

A miracle happened yesterday that I got motivated to organize my accessories. Believe me. Being busy the past few months made my clothes and accessories disorganize.

And while I am sorting all this stuff. I came up on making a blog post of my fave accessories.
I want to share to all of you my top 4 fave accessories.

#1
Button Bracelets
These are one of my fave accessories, Tada! The button bracelets. It is actually a local product of F.A.R.M (Fabulously and Absolutely Rural-Made) in Baao, Camarines Sur. I find these bracelets really unique 'cause it reflects how creative Bicolanos are.

#2
Cocktail and Connector Rings
My friends and family wouldn't understand why I'd love wearing connector rings. They find it weird 'cause you can't move two fingers if you're wearing the ring. For me, they add spice to one's outfit. It makes my mani look nicer especially if it is for an outfit shot. hahahahha. I got the silver feather from Parklane, the silver bow from F2M, the brown mustache and five star from ShopOJewels, the red mustache ring was a gift from Anagon when I bought one of her wire headbands and the rest are from tiangge stores.

#3
Long Chain Necklaces
Addition to my long chain necklace collection.
(L-R)  Pink macaroon from Just G, mustache, deathly hallows,
hunger games and HP necklaces all from Personalized Accessories.

I've always love vintage looking stuffs. That's why I fancied brass long chain necklaces with cutesy charms and pendants. The black owl and robot necklace was one of my firsts. I got them from F2M. Then the red owl and HK (Hello Kitty) necklace, actually a watch when you open HK, I got it from Melmed Shop. Others I got from tiangge stores. I love wearing these necklaces with simple and plain tops. It also helps my torso look longer since the chain elongates the body. hehehe. (I'm a shorty kasi).

#4
Silver Collar necklace from  All Things Pretty by AnDi & ArDi

Brass Peter Pan Collar necklace from Trendy Options

Embelished Collar Necklace from  All Things Pretty by AnDi & ArDi

Lace Detachable Collar by Me (Yes! made from scrap of lace.)

Red with White Polka Dots Detachable Collar that I bought from Kyz Uy at the BU3

Blue Shimmery Detachable Collar that I also bought from  Kyz Uy  at the BU3
Yes. Right now. Detachable collars are my thing. I love wearing simple pieces that needs an oomph! factor. And this detachable collars made me standout from the crowd even just paired with a simple shirt and jeans on. The collars speaks for the whole outfit. I also love wearing them with tube tops. You can see it here on my lookbook account.

What are you guys waiting for? Hype 'em! Hype 'em! Hype 'em!
And that's all for tonight. My next blog post will be about my BU3 experience and the launch of me and my sisy's online shop. Yay!

Toodles!
Much Love, AnDi

Big Comeback

I have been very busy the past six months because of graduation and job hunting. And alas! I have succeeded. I landed as a bank teller for a universal bank here in Naga City. Anyway, I decided to blog again now that I have a spare time. For the next few days/weeks I will tackle everything that I am crazy about and my fashion item favorites. *Egzoiting!*

This first entry of mine as a comeback I will share to your our own work of art as me and my sister may call it. Personal grooming is one of the things people do (especially the ladies) on a regular basis. In order for us to maintain the neatness of our body, we treat our hair, practice personal hygiene and also make sure our nails and toenails are neat and clean. As for me and my sister, we grew up enjoying having mani and pedi's together. And as years have gone by the so called "Nail Art" was introduced to us.

TRIVIA: Did you know that Nail Art started 3000 years Before Christ, when Chinese used enamel on their fingernails? #JustSayin

My sister and I started getting nail stamping services from a small boutique in our town. We were fascinated how they do it. We were asked to choose two colors, one for the base and the second for the color of the design to be stamped. The designs are engraved in metal plates which will serve as the stencil of the design to be stamped. Their stamping kits are composed of rubber stamp, scraper and the metal design plate.

The result of the nail stamping defines fine lines and complicated designs and structures that you'll be amazed.  It is also an easy way to make layers and patterns. It usually stays for 1-2 weeks. Later on, stamping kits were now available in the market that's why me and my sister decided to do our own nail art stamping to ourselve

These are sample of unique nail art design stamps I found online.

These are my sample of masterpiece through nail stamping. Voila!
Me and my sister were totally crazy for floral designs.

The other type of nail art we tried was the digital nail art. You are asked to choose a design from the printed designs and then they'll tweak something in the computer and you'll put your hand inside a machine that serves as the printer of your chosen design.

The result of the digital nail art is just like printing a picture in a piece of paper but instead of paper it's printed on the nail. It is more colorful since what you see is what you get for this type of nail art.  The only downside of this is that it's quite messy sometimes since the design adjusted to the nails are not always perfect and it only lasts for a week since it is also easily washable.

This is a sample I took online.

Another nail art we tried is by making use of 3D nail stickers, sequins and fimo sticks. It is really simple and convenient since you can do it to yourself. The sequins and fimo sticks make use of nail glue for it to stay on the nails.

The result of using this type of nail accessories is convenient since it is very available in the market. They're really cheap. In fact, I just bought 4 packs of 3d nail stickers (different designs) for a hundred pesos only from the very famous 168 Shopping Mall. They also have fimo sticks there. It lasts for 2-3 weeks especially if you put a top coat every week so it stays longer.

My latest masterpiece. (And what I mean by latest is I just had this on last night before I slept.hhi)
Bought these stickers from Marj Sia at the Blogger's United 3.

My take on the use of fimo sticks. In this case, I used yummy and juicy looking apples.

And last but not the least. We tried the real nail art. Where you will expose your creativity and patience. (Yes! patience. Since it takes time and lots of practice to perfect this type of nail art.) The most essential things to be used in this type of nail art are dotting tools, stripe-r and lots and lots of different color of nail polish. We learned how to do nail art through Youtube video tutorials. Our fave is Cute Polish's site http://www.youtube.com/user/cutepolish

The results depends on your creativity. I usually ask my sister to do mine since she's more of the artsy person but I also learned to do it to myself. It usually takes 2-3 weeks to stay on. It's quite fun since you discover new designs. We make use of alternative dotting tools like toothpick, hairpins. But now, nail art tools are already very available in the market.

These are just a few of my sister's masterpiece.

My very first attempt of nail art: nail strawberries.
I toldya my sisy is the artsy one.lol

This is one of my sister's most beautiful master piece. She actually just experimented with my nails and this was the result. She made use of both the "real" nail art and fimo sticks.

There are still lots of nail art in the market that I personally haven't tried yet but heard it a couple of times. The cracked nails, magnetic nail polish, tattoo nail art and many more that I have to explore.
For me, getting nails groomed are just one of the few things that also matters in fashion 'cause it also follows trends. It also shows our personality but it doesn't necessarily mean that we should always wear nail polish on. That would definitely damage our nails. What I mean is we can have our nails just clean and even with no polish is considered a grooming for nails. Just making it clean is more than enough to show our own personality.

Until the next blog post!
Soo eqzoited to share to all of you my other fashion faves and my experience of going to the Blogger's United 3 Bazaar.

Toodles!
Much love, AnDi
